Bonus abuse
Play the casino treats as exploiting an offer, e.g. multiple accounts or low-risk betting patterns. It is the clause casinos cite to void winnings, so read how each site defines it.
Bonus funds
Money credited by the casino that cannot be withdrawn until the wagering requirement is met. Not the same as cash.
Cashback
A percentage of net losses returned over a period. When paid as cash it has no wagering and no max win. More
Game contribution
How much of each bet counts toward wagering. Slots usually count 100%; table and live games often 10% or 0%.
Game max win
The largest payout a slot can produce on one spin or feature, as a multiple of the stake (e.g. 5,000x). Set by the game provider, not the casino. More
GAMSTOP
The free UK self-exclusion scheme. Registering blocks you from every UK-licensed online casino for 6 months, 1 year or 5 years. More
Max bet rule
The highest stake allowed per spin while a bonus is active. Breaking it, even once, is the most common reason bonus winnings are voided. More
Max cashout
The most you can withdraw from bonus winnings. Anything above it is removed when the bonus converts. Also called max conversion. More
Max conversion
Same as max cashout: the cap on how much bonus money turns into withdrawable cash, often a multiple of the bonus (e.g. 4x). More
Max win
Any cap on what you can win. On offers it means a limit on bonus or free-spin winnings; on games it means the slot's top payout. More
No max win bonus
An offer with no cap on what its winnings can become. Whatever you win after meeting the terms is yours to withdraw. More
No wagering bonus
An offer whose winnings are paid straight as cash. It usually has no max win either, but check: some cap no-wagering spin winnings. More
RTP (return to player)
The share of all money staked that a game pays back over millions of spins. A 96% RTP slot keeps 4% on average. Casinos may run lower RTP versions of the same game.
Spin value
The stake each free spin is played at. 50 spins at 10p are worth £5 of play; 10 spins at £1 are worth twice as much.
Sticky bonus
A bonus that can be played with but never withdrawn; only winnings above it can be. Opposite of a non-sticky or parachute bonus.
UKGC
The UK Gambling Commission, which licenses every operator allowed to offer online gambling to people in Great Britain. Check any licence on its public register. More
Volatility
How a slot spreads its returns. High-volatility games pay less often but can hit far larger wins, which is why no max win offers matter most on them.
Wagering requirement
How many times bonus funds must be staked before they become cash. From 19 January 2026 UK offers are capped at 10x. More
